A minor was abducted, raped in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur district by an unidentified person and left in a secluded place, The Times of India reported on 27 June.

Quoting the Central Kotwal Police as a source, TOI reported that the seven-year-old went missing from her school in Hafiz Colony on 26 June afternoon and was found abandoned near Lakshman Darwaza on 27 June morning around 10 am.

The accused had committed unnatural offences, TOI reported quoting the police.

The matter came to light when the minor’s grandfather reportedly went to pick her up from school but was informed that she had already left school.

On being unable to find her whereabouts, her parents lodged a missing complaint following which investigation was initiated.

“Teams were sent across to ascertain the identity of the accused and school authorities were being interrogated,” the SP said, assuring that the accused will be arrested.
