The Budget session of the Parliament began on Monday. The Economic Survey is to be presented in the Parliament today. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present the Union Budget 2018-19 on Thursday, February 1.
As many as 28 bills are expected to be tabled in the Lok Sabha this session, while 39 bills are listed for the Rajya Sabha.
Among the important bills that will be tabled are the Muslim Women’s (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, related to triple talaq, the Codes of Wages Bill, Rights of Children to Free and Compulsory Education.

9am: On Sunday, at an all-party meeting, the government said it would “leave no stone unturned” to ensure the passage of the Triple Talaq bill. At the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Budget Session was “very important” and that the government takes suggestions given by all political parties “very seriously.”
8.45am: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said that the Budget Session is scheduled to have a total of 31 sittings spread over 68 days. Parliament will be adjourned for recess on February 9 to reassemble on March 5. The session would conclude on April 6.
