A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) constable lost Rs 94,000 after he shared banking details with a conman who posed as a customer care official. Victim Laxmi Narayan, posted at CBI office in CGO complex Lodhi Road, first reported the matter to his office and after the recommendation, south district police have registered an FIR against an unknown person in Saket police station.
As per the FIR, the victim alleged that he was using a mobile app of a private bank for his personal account. In last few days, he was unable to use mobile banking and therefore registered a complaint with the customer care.
“When he called customer care official on 9572718930, the latter had first asked his concern and then suggested that his KYC of mobile banking is not updated and therefore he is unable to recharge anything. The “customer care official” then took the victim’s pin number, CVV and OTP,” the official said, adding he was then duped of Rs 94,000 from his account.
