Based on the notes recovered from Bhatia’s house, only Lalit was aware that the entire family was going to die, said an official close to the investigation.
Lalit was “following his dead father’s instructions” and the family members were practicing them for last 10 years.
He was the one on whose instructions the entire family agreed for the alleged mass-salvation, believing that they all would be saved by his father’s spirit.
Mail Today had already reported that at least one member of the Burari family, who was found hanging from an iron grille inside their north Delhi home on July 1, had made a last-ditch unsuccessful attempt to escape death.
One of Bhavnesh’s hands was in the air, near his throat, when police found the bodies.
POST-MORTEM RULED OUT POISONING
Meanwhile, the autopsy report of six members has revealed that they died due to hanging and no trace of poison was found in their bodies. The cops are now waiting for the final autopsy report of the five bodies.
“The post-mortem reports will now be sent to the FSL. It is getting clearer that the family committed suicide, but we will wait for all the reports to come out and the forensic lab to give their inputs,” an official said.
The official maintained that the probe will continue in all plausible angles, including the probe related to the chances of a possible murder. “But as of now, it does not look like there was any involvement of an occultist,” he added.
CCTV footage, however, reveals that no one had entered or left the house after 11.30 pm on June 30.
COPS STRESSED OUT
While the case is now being probed by the crime branch, policemen at Burari police station are stressed out. None of the officer has seen this kind of gory incident in their lifetime.
Mail Today spoke to several officers posted at Burari police station to find out their state of mind after they visited the spot and probed the case of alleged salvation, all of them agreed that they are having sleepless nights.
One of the senior officers heading the police station, requesting anonymity, said: “Right now, the police staff are busy in probing the case, maintaining law and order situation in the entire area. But after few days they might undergo stress buster sessions in the police stations to encourage the cops. Also, on regular basis the staff is given motivational speeches.”
He confirmed that the locals have given them options to perform puja inside the police station and start some spiritual work, but without hurting their sentiments they have been asked to give some time. It is important to mention that only 100 cops are looking after the safety and security of Burari that is spread around 30 km with a population of 15 lakhs.
